土曜日の一般部稽古・約束組手
攻防の状況を想定し、対人でそれらを行う中で
間合いや見切り、体捌き、力の方向性等を養っています。
この日のメンバーは、卒業を控えた高校生、マスターズの黒帯、
主婦、還暦間近の男性、春の全国大会に出場する中学生、
老若男女様々、正にバラエティに富んでいますが、
同じ稽古の中で、健康づくり、体力増強、技術の向上など、
それぞれの目的に適うことができるのが
空手の稽古システムの良いところですね。
正しく稽古を積んで行けば、
より健康になり、心も強く健やかに
そして技も熟練していく。

Saturday General Group Class • “Yakusoku Kumite”
We are working on reading offense and defense movements;
the body’s orientation, how to react to the opponent’s offense,
defense positions, and understanding timing
between yourself and your opponent.
On Saturday we had graduating seniors, mothers,
men turning 60 this year (60 is a celebratory age in Japan)
and middle schoolers expected to participate in the spring tournament.
As you can see we have a wide age range but at our Dojo,
each can focus on what they want whether it be techniques,
health maintenance or increasing strength.
This is the great thing about the Karate system!
Practice over practice, one can gain health,
techniques, and even gain spiritual growth as well.
The Dojo is a place where one can self
examine and grow as a person.
