毎月最終水曜の夜は、月例の組手会の開催日

組手のレベルアップを目指す道場生が参加していますが、
ここに来たから強くなれるかと言えばそうではありません。
やはり強くなっていく子は、相手を選ばず
誰に対しても全力で臨んでいます。

特に、上級者に対して喰らいついていく気概。
昨日も、技を決められ、痛さと悔しさで涙を流しながらも
歯を食いしばって向かってくる子がいましたが、
こういう子は必ず強くなりますね。

一番大事なのは、このハートの強さ。
そして、その強さは自分の力で掴みとっていくもの。
痛み、恐怖に立ち向かい、乗り越える強き心を
この組手会を通じて、しっかりと鍛えていきます!!

【October Kumite Workshop】

Every last Wednesday of the month is our Kumite workshop.
This workshop is for students who wish to improve
their kumite, however, it doesn’t guarantee their growth.
In my experience, the students who excel are those
who give all their strength, regardless of who their opponent is.
Even against advanced opponents, these students are aggressive.
Yesterday, there was a student who was shedding
tears from pain and adversity because his opponent took the point,
but this student was still pushing hard.
I know he will become a strong fighter as the most
important thing is a strong spirit like his.
He faced the pain, the challenge, and the fear,
and crossed one boundary to step up his game.
We will train the students hard and through
this workshop!!

先日、当道場最高齢58才での昇段を果たしたシライさん
初めて黒帯を締めての稽古姿は凛々しいですね。

この日もバリバリ元気に動いていました。
正に”鉄人”です!!

The other day Mr.Shirai, the most senior at our Dojo,
passed the black belt test and showed up
to practice with his new belt looking quite valiant!
His movements were energetic as always.
He is truly an ironman!

リアルチャンピオンシップスの
合同練習会にマリが参加

各団体の精鋭相手に23ラウンドの組手を
最後までやり切りました。

先週に続き、単身で練習会に参加したマリ
なかなかのナイスガッツの持ち主ですね!

Mari participated in the Real Championships
Combined Practice Camp.
She completed all kumite rounds
against 23 of the best from each group.
Following from last week,
this is her second solo participation
in a practice camp. This girl has some guts!

先日の岡町道場では、スリランカに興味を持った子が多く
稽古後は、みんなの質問タイムとしました。

海外の生活習慣、食べ物、文化の違いを知ることで
子どもたちも大きく視野を広げてもらいたいですね

The other day after practice at Okamachi Dojo,
the students were curious and interested about my trip
to Sri Lanka so we had a short Q&A time.
I shared with them about the Sri Lankan lifestyle,
food, and the cultural differences,
with hopes that it will enrich and broaden
their mind and values.

昨日は京都で行われた
「第１２回若龍杯オープン空手道選手権大会」に
３名の拳士が出場

ハイレベルなフルコンタクトルールの試合では

①相手に効かせられる打撃力
②最後まで動きつづけられる体力
③打ち合いに怯むことのない精神力

この３つのポイントのいずれか(又は全て)を
出場した選手たちは、それぞれこれからの稽古の
課題として取り組み、さらなる高みを目指して行きましょう。

Yesterday the “12th Jakuryu Cup Open Karate Championships”
was held in Kyoto and we had 3 participants from our Dojo.
An advanced full contact rules consist of:
1. An effective attack towards the opponent.
2. A lasting physical endurance until the end of the match.
3. An emotional endurance engaging in the match.
If our students had lacked any of the above rules,
I believe it is necessary to master them
in practices to achieve them.

昨日は空研塾合宿稽古・夜の部に行ってきました。
当道場からは、３年女子のマリが単身参加

ここ最近は、なかなか厳しい試合が続いていますが
試合やこうした練習会にも、
１人でも積極的にチャレンジしようとする姿勢は素晴らしいですね。

彼女は来週のリアルチャンピオンシップの
合同稽古会にも単身で参加します。
その心意気や良し!
今は芽が出なくとも、そのチャレンジは
必ず後に大きな花を咲かせられるようになるよ!!

Kuken Seminar Training Camp

Yesterday I went to the night session of
Kuken Seminar Training Camp’s practice
(Kuken is a form of unarmed martial arts or with bare hands).
From our Dojo, 3rd year Mari paricipated.
These days we had a series of challenging
tournaments but it’s inspiring to see individuals
stepping up to these obstacles and hard practices.
Mari will be participating in next week’s
Real Championship’s Combined Training Camp by herself as well.
Her positive attitude is commendable! Even if the seeds
don’t bear fruit right away,
I am sure that one day the flower will bloom bright and big!!
